Michigan cow elk! After a 2+ mile walk following my guide through 10inches of snow we stalked up on a few elk. As I was about to shoot they ran off and another dozen elk came running out of the corn. They mingled around at 150 yards and after a few minutes this beautiful cow elk gave me a clear shot. She stumbled and then went right down. One of the most amazing experience of my life. She dressed out at 360lbs

We had been bow hunting the past four days and I was not looking forward to the 100% rain in the morning on opening day. Me and my buddy mike martin set up the only pop up blind we had after Nov 14 evening hunt. We stayed warm and dry, the wind was insane and the rain was falling sideways. At 915am mike started slapping my knee, buck! I looked up to see him running through some thick aspens 50 yards in front of us head to the ground . We saw disappear deeper into the aspens, I quickly hit the grunt and he immediately came back around. Seconds later he popped out of the aspens at around 80 yards and looked over right at us, but I was already on him. With mike watching just over my shoulder I dropped him in his tracks. My first buck, and on northern Michigan state land sitting in the piss pouring rain with my good friend mike.
