My wife shot her biggest buck to date. It came out of the swamp into the corn field about 180 yards out. It only took one shot. It went about 49 yards and piled up

Had a rough season. Was seeing good bucks here and there but couldn’t ever get a shot. It wasn’t until December 10th when this one came out. It was a crazy morning, cold, snowy, and I wasn’t expecting much. I had him on camera once way back in early October but he left the property, he came back. There were 25 deer all surrounding my spot it was just crazy. Only a few were bucks, and he was the nicest. Being so late in the season I figured it’s now or never. If it wasn’t for the decent brows he would have gotten the pass. Anyway I was happy with him

Had a new piece of property had access to. Was watching the trail cameras close. Had an insane amount of deer activity, pretty much all day everyday, but all doe and smaller bucks. The. After a few weeks I checked the camera and had a group of three bucks come in one morning. With not too much going on with my other dogs I decided to give it a try. It’s been over a week since the bucks had came in at this point. I got in early, still dark, and within seconds of sitting there were deer all around. I could see the shadows moving around. It was exciting from that point on there wasn’t a minute without a deer. Suddenly all the doe in the area ran off and I knew a buck was coming. Luckily for me it was the biggest buck I had on camera. Shot him quartering to a lot but he only went 50 yards. Double lung, the arrow bounced off the opposite shoulder and excited underneath him. Only mins after shooting him a bigger buck showed up, there were other bucks grounding and doe running all over. Never got a shot on the other big 8 but I did get him on my camera. It was all around a crazy morning. Even while gutting the deer I had other deer around walking near me. Definitely a hunt to remember.

About 9:00 Saturday morning, I was preparing to leave my 2 man ladder stand because I was cold. My dad had just texted and said he was coming to meet me at my stand. 2 minutes later this boyear stepped out of the brush and headed towards me. He came across in front of me and stopped at 35 yds. I made a sitting shot. It was a perfect heart shot, and my rage broadhead ripped a huge hole. He ran 70yds and piled up. My first deer with a compound bow.
