My dad got it done at 4 o’clock tonight! Buck we were curious as to what he could turn into with another year to grow so he was able to get a pass in 2017… 2018 comes around and we were fortunate enough to have him return and he was a little wider but not much of anything else happened with him. We gave him the name wide 4 for good reason as he ended up having a 17.25 inch inside spread!!

Brooklyn Megie

After several years of hunting and harvesting doe’s my 14yr old daughter Brooklyn took a little coaxing to get out of bed on a freezing cold Michigan November morning. But like the trooper she is, she got up and got dressed like she had so many times before to go hunting with her dad. With not much happening the 1st hour of daylight she finally caught some movement about a 100yds out. For all the hours spent on the shooting bench I had no doubt as to the bucks fate when she slipped the 7mm Weatherby out of the window. After s short wait (that seemed like a eternity) we walked to where the buck had been standing and as she tracked the blood I scanned the woods for that tell tale “brown hump”. Sure enough he only made it about 20yds into the brush before expiring. As the whole camp congratulated her on her buck I couldn’t help but realize how blessed I am to have her as my daughter! Congrats Brooklyn!

Michael Ellis

I watched him over on the next ridge, but I couldn’t tell what he was. He then descended down the ridge saw he was I thought a spike. Shot him at 25 yards with my Ruger American 450 Bushmaster. He ran about 40 yards the blood trail was amazing, I shot him in the right shoulder and my bullet expanded hit the heart, double lung, and exited the left rear end. He ended up being a 4 point.

Mark Howland

Mark arrowed this great 8 point the evening of 11/10/2018. He had called me a couple days prior to say he had been seeing a nice buck in his parents yard just outside the city of West Branch. He asked if he could borrow my crossbow to go see if we could get a shot on him. We got out early afternoon into the club house his father had built for the grandkids, with a couple sugar beets about 15 yards from us. Lots of does and fawns came in through out the cold evening, then at about 5:40pm with both of us frozen we decided to head in. I started down the ladder, when all of a sudden we heard a loud grunt. Mark grabbed up the bow and we heard it again, but louder. About this time the does on the bait scatter and this gorgeous 8 point busts out of the thicket. Mark let an arrow fly, and delivered a perfect fatal shot on the buck. He expired Within 50 yards. Ogemaw Hill QDMA co-op putting in awesome work, and getting back even better results! Pass those yearlings bucks folks, you are not alone!

Faith

One less Fawn killer in the woods! Faith’s first year hunting, and she spots a buck coming in that she wants to shoot. The buck freezes up at 50 yds and just stares into the brush. This nice male Coyote was stalking the deer and Faith wasn’t gonna have any of that. So, he got the rage in his cage at about 20 yds.
