Sat from 630 am with no activity and at 245 this guy was chasing a doe between 2 patches of woods. Hit a grunt call and he turned and came straight to 80 yards and stopped broadside.

Seen him coming out of the woods and onto the property where I hunt. I had done some rattling about 5 minutes before I seen him. Snow was coming down like a blizzard. Shot him with my Thompson Center muzzleloader at 50 yards. Dropped right in his tracks. Not my biggest buck but what a beautiful hunt with all the snow falling. One I’ll never forget.

Well i got to my stand later then i wanted to his morning. I was there for about 5 minutes and heard some noises coming from behind me thought it may have been just a squirrel but then I kept hearing noises. I started looking through my binoculars and saw him. I exhaled which made my binoculars fog up. I wiped them and was looking for him again and couldn’t find where he was at. Pulled down the binoculars and there he was 10 yards from me. The dnr aged him at 4.5 years old

I shot this buck mid-morning while he was chasing a couple does. He was taken down by a Traditions Hawken woodsman .50 caliber percussion rifle loaded with 70 grains of Pyrodex and a roundball. Biggest deer I’ve ever taken, first ever with a muzzleloader

So blessed for the opportunity to harvest such an awesome buck! Actually saw something in the woods for the first time in my life, watched a 10 point breed a doe twice in 10 minutes! Right up till the big guy came out of woods, First time shooting the 450 bushmaster at a deer, amazing rifle. Special thanks to Eddie and Jan!!
