My first deer ever taken. I’ve only been hunting for 4 years. Saw another buck of this caliber about 20 minutes before and was unable to get a shot off before he disappeared through the thicket. Kicked myself the whole time, just when I was about to call it a day I turned and saw this behemoth about 25 yards away looking straight at me. Totally thought he spotted me and was about to run. He turned his butt towards me and I was able to get my gun up and he then turned and gave me a perfect side shot.
