This year has definitely tested my patience as a deer hunter. Since opening day, I have passed up on over 20 bucks that just needed more time to grow. I’ve had my eyes set on a massive thick 8 point that has managed to elude me 3 times, he is who I had my head set on. This 8 point, which I had not yet encountered before, came walking in following 35 doe. For some reason, he got my blood pumping. He finished licking a branch at 30 yards and I let the 450 bullet fly. He did a back flip and the rest was history. No, he is not my biggest but when a deer gets your blood pumping, its meant to be. His G2s measure at 8 1/4 inches and dressed out at 165 lbs. So blessed to be able to have property access to harvest these beautiful animals.
