Back in April, I took a big risk and bought my first bird dog without giving my girlfriend a heads up. I was in the dog house for quite a while after that, but it was worth it. Waylon and I put a ton of work in the month September and when the time came, we were ready. We competed in a grouse and woodcock tournament up north back in October. With Waylon at 10 months old, we won the tournament and I shot my first (and probably my last knowing how difficult it is) limit of grouse. It’s a day my family and I will never forget and a very proud moment for me being able to do that with Waylon.
