Walking to my stand for the evening hunt, i kicked up this buck on the edge of the corn field, after seeing he was a decent buck i stopped and waited for a good ten minutes, then i began to stalk him, every time the wind blew I would take a couple steps and then stop and listen, I got about ten yards from him and he jumped up again, this time running down the edge of the corn, I gave him a couple loud meeh meeh, he decided to stop and look back quartering away, I didn’t have time to put my range finder on him so i guessed about 40-45 yds, ended up hitting him in the lower neck area, he ran about a 100 yds and I watched him go down, so I slowly made my way to him following the blood, once I got close he jumped up again and ran another 15 yds and dropped, so I stood there for a good hr before continuing to pursue him, after an hr I slowly crept my way towards him until I could see him laying there, that’s when I knew I had successfully taken my biggest buck to date, on State Land too!!!
