Sitting a rut funnel, had does coming off the hill first thing in the morning and a buck following them at approximately 0715, missed a shot on that deer, he was at an unknown distance (later to be ranged at 38 and I thought he was closer) arrow went just under his armpit but he didn’t even react to me taking a shot at him so I was hopeful I’d get another chance at him. Hours later around 1115 I heard a twig snap just over my left shoulder behind me and here comes a different buck at 20 yards, able to get him stopped in an opening and I did not miss that time. Perfectly placed arrow and he didn’t make it 40. He is my first buck!
