Hang and hunt with my brother in law a mile deep in the swamp. First time stepping foot in the area, but looked good on the map and had good wind. Heard some ruckus in the marsh, one grunt call and heard him coming fast. Barely had time to grab my bow. Shot him at 6 yards thru the heart. I was in a saddle, so couldn’t see behind the tree I’m sitting and had another shooter staring at me 5 yards away as my buck ran off. Called back up and we paddled him out in the moonlight. Dream hunt on public land with some amazing friends!! God is good!
P.S. My dad passed in March and I know he was looking down on this one with a smile. Biggest buck to date.
