Buck #1: I was sitting in a brush bush next to a field. I wasn’t seeing much except fawns. When only one fawn was left in the field, I decided to see if I could use it as a decoy of sorts. I didn’t think it would run away if I hit my grunt since it was so young, so I gave it a shot. Sure enough, the fawn stood there and kept eating away. Five minutes later, this guy came strolling up, disappointed to find a fawn. He was hanging out looking around and ended up walking into my shooting zone at 40 yards. He stood there nice and still, so I let a bolt fly. It hit both lungs and the heart, so he wobbled about 40 yards before laying down in the field. I saw his head flop, so I knew he had expired.

Evening
I was hunting another field where I had seen many bucks hanging out in. I crawled through some thick brush and stayed hidden in the edge of it next to the field. A doe jumped out to the right of me about 15 yards. She was panting and acting tired, so I knew she must be being chased. I found a hole in the brush pointing that way and 30 seconds later, this guy jumped out to follow her. He stopped to sniff the ground where she had been standing, just slightly quarter away from me. I took my shot and right away saw it was good. He was bleeding a lot. I watched where he went in the woods and was able to easily find his blood trail. Ten minutes later, I found him. He ran about 150 yards to get there.
