Chase’s 2nd year hunting at 10 years old. Opening morning of gun season. We didn’t expect to see much with the warm temps (61 degrees for a high) but shortly after daylight a doe came walking out about 50 yards out with this buck close behind. Chase took a deep breath & took his shot. The buck hobbled off away from us so we knew his angled shot had hit a leg. At about 80 yards he turned sideways and Chase took a second shot, grazing the lungs and sending him hobbling back into the corn. After searching the corn for about a half hour we came up on him and he tried to get up and run. One last shot through the neck did him in. Such an amazing experience and memory made for a mom & her son.
