It was foggy and warm this morning, but there were deer everywhere as soon as I got in the blind. I saw large antlers through some brush but lost him. Watched some does and a little 4-point hang out. Heard rustling behind me and watched a doe in the field beyond the woods, and realized there were antlers in the brush between. I was texting my husband that if I was in my stand, I would have a good look at him. Next thing I know he stepped out into a clear area, acting like he would go behind me to the field. Instead, he turned and stepped right into a clear spot. I had to wait for him to turn more broadside, but he gave me the shot! I watched him run towards my tree stand, and found him in the field on my way back to the truck. Sending that “deer down” text never gets old. Our kids think their mom is cool!
