I had just gotten back in the stand and not even 5 minutes later, this guy stepped out about 65 yards away. He was slightly quartered toward me and since he was staring at me putting down the window and aiming my gun, I quickly got a shot off. He turned and dropped less than 60 yards away. I’ve always let my husband and boys go out hunting and I’ve stayed in with the youngest, but now that they’re older, I had my first opportunity to go out. This was my first deer.
