Non stop action all morning but the deer were mostly out of range. At noon I regrouped and moved closer to the runs. Making a makeshift blind in a fallen tree. Not even 5 minutes after sitting down, here came a doe with the big buck hot on her trail. Unfortunately I had shot my bow after my hunt and had not yet re-cocked it. I knew I had to do just that when they were behind some trees and thick brush. Luckily I was able to cock the crossbow and set up just seconds before he was in range. I made a 40 yard shot and he ran about 75 yards and piled up. I green scored him in the low 150’s
