I have been after this buck since he showed up mid October. Had several encounters in the daylight but couldn’t get the right opportunity. He left the property and the neighbor had wounded him. He came back 6 days later and never left after that. Saw him opening morning of gun season but it was just after shooting light and I couldn’t tell if it was him or not so I let him go into the woods. Wind was shifting and picking up tramendously for the evening hunt so I decided to go sit on the ground on the back of the property where he was headed. Got in early and waited. Had a pile of does come out of the woods around 430 and into the cut corn field and was watching a couple small bucks and 8 does eat Infront of me at 20 to 40 yards. Around 520 I hear a few deep grunt to my right to see him coming in hot down the hill at 60 yards. Grabbed my gun put it on him and squeezed the trigger. He piled up after taking a couple steps. Couldn’t be happier. Got to enjoy the harvest with family afterwards.
