Maddisyn Head

Well my daughter went out opening day and had this same buck in front of her but couldn’t get a shot on him. Yesterday we went out November 17 “on her birthday” and we were only there for 40 minutes an guess who decided to step out in front of her. She waited 30 minutes just to get a shot on him. He stepped out of brush finally in between two trees with about a two foot gap and she yelled at him to get him to stop. He did and she took the shot. She instantly started crying “mom I think I got him!!”. I told her I have years of experience and the way he buckled an ran after I knew he was hit!!! We ended up getting up and started tracking him. The amount of blood I found I instantly knew she hit his lungs with the bubbles but also his heart. He ran about 40 yards and dropped. I seen him but as a mom I wanted her to find him first being it was her first deer ever and on her birthday how cool is that!!! We gutted him to find out that she did infact hit his lungs, heart and liver. What a kill she did! So proud of her! I am thankful I was to be a part of this big day for her. She lost her dad at age five and she used to go with him but now it is mama and Papa that takes her.
