I just got out of bowling practice at 5 pm and decided to go stop by our smallest chunk of property and check to see if there was a big doe in the little horse pasture. I just wanted more meat for the freezer. Then I walked down the trail and lifted my scope up and seen a couple of does and seen a really big body but the tree was in the way of its head. When I continued to take a few more steps I stepped on a pile of leaves on accident and he lifted his head and all I knew was that he was a shooter. The last thought I had was that it was the big buck that’s been around because he was shot by a bow two days before opening day of gun season, we backed out for a bit and then went back because we wanted to give him time to expire. We went back there and never found a drop of blood and we were thinking about backing out, then my uncle walked right up on him laying 40 yards from where I shot him. All I can remember was that it’s not real.
