Started seeing nice deer 7:30 AM, passed on four small eights, then the first 20 inch wide six pointer came out of the Phragmites, but had to stop him because he was on the move looking for doe. gave him a grunt he stopped, presented me with a nice 70 yard broadside shot. I pulled the trigger. He only ran 20 yards. Being that it’s opening morning of rifle season and I had combination tag I stayed sitting. An hour later this big beautiful dark eight pointer came walking up on me looking for either another buck or a doe started making a scrape, presenting me with a nice 60 yard broadside shot, made a good hit on him, he also only ran about 20 yards. My 450 Ruger American is an awesome gun very grateful.
