e had a 2 mile an hour Eastwind and I wasn’t sure which spot to go so I asked my three-year-old she told me to go to meemaw and pee paws. I even had her flip a coin and it came up same thing twice. I decided I was gonna sit in this rundown old shack that has proven deadly on an east wind, but when I got there a couple of the walls had fallen over so I decided to sneak to a nearby tree stand. The bedding area I was hunting is very hard to sneak into so I walked like a squirrel took five steps and stopped for a minute all the way to the stand. I got settled in had a tractor going around figured that would’ve jumped any deer in the bedding area. The tractor leaves, and about 30 minutes after getting in the stand I spotted a deer on the edge of the bedding area. I watch him walk around slowly, and make it a rub on a tree. He finally stepped into the clearing after five minutes he was about 80 yards. I took a shot. He didn’t flinch. I got another shot off in 1.5 seconds and he dropped! upon further inspection, I realized this is a deer that I injured during bow season. Grateful to catch up with him and wrap a tag around him. Hunted for him the previous season with only 2 sightings. Almost positive i have one of his shed antlers from last season.
