Opening morning I was in my climber stand early. But I chose a location in fairly thick brush. I just couldn’t see very much and didn’t like it. So I climbed down at 8:30. I traded the climber for a chair and walked to an open woods area. I saw a couple deer in the thicket, but couldn’t see their heads as they moved through the brush.
15 minutes later I looked to my left and he was sneaking through some pines. I waited for him to clear the trees and fired. 40 yard shot. He ran less than 30 yards. His right base is almost 6” around, teeth are pretty worn down too.
