My birthday is May 2nd so this year my family got me a new 20 gauge for my gift. We got it all sighted in last weekend and yesterday I was able to break it in the best way possible! My dad and I went out Wednesday morning and got some birds talking. Our calling brought in some curious hens who were then followed by 2 giant Toms. We watched them strut through the pines then stepping out for a perfect shot. 31 yard shot, 23 pound bird, 1 5/8 long spurs and 12 inch beard. I wish I could relive this morning 10 more times. Such a memorable moment shared with my dad.
