Hunting with my dad and uncle, got to the blind around 5:40 AM, and saw a few doe and a small buck. My dad was just getting ready to say we should head in for breakfast at 9:30. Then he walked out. He headed straight for the apple tree in the meadow. My uncle couldn’t see so he tried to open his window, but I slipped out of his hand and smacked the frame! The buck turned and stared us down for a minute, then went back to munching on apples. I was shaking so bad at this point, and so was my dad. My uncle chuckled because he said he could hear us breathing. When the buck came out from under the apple tree my uncle tried closing his window, and it slipped again, smacking the frame of the window. At this point the buck was nervous and started for the woods. My dad warned me that he was going to grunt to stop him, he did, and the buck didn’t hear him. Then he did it again, but louder. The buck stopped and I dropped him at 100 yards!! This was my first buck, and one of the best days of my 8 years alive! – Emmy

Writing this as her parent I can’t begin to express the amount of emotions and feelings I had seeing her shoot her first buck! It was exhilarating, nerve racking, and absolutely amazing! – her dad
