Avery (9) and dad went out last night for her first youth hunt. After a few hours of a very hot sit, they decide to take a little break from deer watch and shift around a bit, not even halfway through dad looks back out the window and this guy had popped up out of the thicket about 40 yards out in front of them. Quickly and quietly Avery got the buck lined up in her scope, target right on the front shoulder, and pulled the trigger before he made a move. He ran off and died about 30 yards away, when her and dad walked up on him he was as good as dead and Avery was so excited she jumped up into dad’s arms with joy. She was so overcome with adrenaline and excitement she was shaking and smiling and immediately said she wanted to do it again. So proud of her on her first harvest!
