So proud of my little girl! 5yo and got it done!
She got a crossbow and tripod for her birthday this year and has been practicing all summer so I decided to take the girl on the youth mentored hunt this weekend. We had a couple does work the edge of the food plot to us within 25 yards. She loudly asked me, " can I shoot?" I told her you better hurry now that they are looking at us. She made a great quarting to us shot right behind the shoulder.
We tracked the deer about 60 yards and found her, I dragged the deer out and onto the trail and told her we could go get the truck to pick it up, she said no way were not leaving it out here for the coyotes! So I got to drag it all the way back to the cabin.
I figured she would go inside and watch tv while I field dressed it, but no, she held the flashlight and helped. We jammed to Fred Bear and got alot of honks and thumbs up on the drive home. I appreciate it, it made her weekend that much exciting. Safe to say I have a new hunting partner! Way to go Ry on your first deer!
