I was surrounded by does, fawns and bucks at first light. The bucks are beginning to show pre-rut behavior, and this 9pt was sparring with an 8pt that was a year younger going by body size. They left the field and circled around downwind of me, the 8pt going through first. He stopped and looked behind him, so I looked as well! Here came the 9pt and he kindly stopped at 41yds for a double lung shot. When I saw him a few months ago in velvet, he became one of my target bucks!
