Decided I was going to rush out and just sit at the front of the property since i was running behind and didn’t want to bump a bunch of deer since deer were already on their feet. So I figured it would be a good just observation sit right behind our barn watching from the corner in our turkey blind. Grabbed my grandpas crossbow and had very little expectations to become as lucky as I was. Watched a spike and a beautiful main frame young 10 point feed in the beans and at around 720 he stepped out. Unreal to think that when I least expected to have the opportunity to harvest this buck it happened the first night out and in a spot I would have never guessed. Made the shot, and waited for My wife, daughter and grandpa to come track knowing what deer I just shot and the years of history and also having both his sheds from the prior year I knew he was a hammer. Gross Typical rough score just shy of 180”!!
Which happens to be contending with the Current State Record Crossbow Typical whitetail taken in Michigan.
