We had seen this buck on camera and in person a couple different times, but never up close. He came out into a standing bean field to feed and spent some time bumping some doe around. I had two die up closer to me in the beans which I thought could be a lure to get him in closer. Sure enough, he started heading in to check them. He got within about 60 yards and started chasing one of the two doe in the opposite direction of me. Out of desperation, I hit the grunt tube a couple times. He immediately turned my way annd proceeded to walk about 120 yards straight at me and I shot him at 15 yards. . He ran 70 yards and piled up in the standing beans. Always a great experience when you can get them to respond to a grunt call. Another tremendous Michigan Whitetail hunt in the books!
