So I might get shamed for the size and age if this deer and I do wish I could have seen this deer next year but that’s just now how tonight played out. To clarify, I’ve given family a hard time about shooting a deer this size especially as APRs prove their worth every year. I need to call myself out on it and just be happy that food is in the freezer and I’m feeding my family.
This poor guy had some kind of incident happen since I had seen him a few days ago. He was limping horribly all the while being extremely wary, looking every direction. Kinda makes me think this injury was a fight he definitely lost. He was well within range and finally turned just right for a perfect double lung shot. It was horrible watching him run the short distance he did but it was over quickly. Truly wish I could’ve seen what he would have looked like as a two year old buck but very happy for no suffering and meat in the freezer. It’s so awesome to see the hunting community coming together more each year that goes by. Good luck to everyone and congratulations to everyone so far!
