This was Hunter’s 1st hunt. Sunday afternoon was our only chance for the 2020 youth hunt. We got home from vacation around 1:30 and got in the stand around 4. Had a doe come in behind us about 5:30 and then disappeared. About 7 I caught a small buck coming into view , Hunter spun around and we got ready but couldn’t get him to stop. While readjusting to try to get a shot Hunter spotted this guy on the same trail. I knew we had to be quick with him starring directly at us. He got his new 350 Legend lined up and he started walking. I got him stopped and Hunter had a small window between 2 trees. He dropped the hammer, I saw a big kick so had a good feeling. We had blood initially and then couldn’t find where he went. Luckily with some help from family we spread out and he ended up only going about 50yds. 9 years old 1 shot, 1 buck. Couldn’t be more proud
