Sitting with my dad in a box blind. Some longs sits this year and not much activity. It was 4:30 on Saturday evening. He came in by himself at 40 yards. My dad kept telling me to relax as I was shaking really bad. Using my 350 legend I put the scope on him. My dad told me to let him get broadside and aim right behind the front shoulder. He wasn’t giving me a broadside shot, so my dad told me to put it on his front shoulder and drill him. I tried to pull the trigger and the gun wouldn’t go off. My dad told me to put the bolt action all the way down as he noticed it was up a little bit. I put it down where it needs to be and pulled the trigger. I hit him right where I was aiming. He took off and my dad pulled up the binoculars and watched him fall about 70 yards away. My dad and I were so excited to have had the chance to do this together and experience shooting my first deer together. Thank you to everyone that helped me recover my first Michigan whitetail deer.
