My husband and I were able to get a sitter for the kids this afternoon/evening so we headed out to our little piece of property that has two tree stands over a food plot. We had seen a few does, a button buck and a small buck so it was already being chalked up to a good sit. It was getting to be last light and I heard something to my right. All I seen was the top of my bucks horns coming through some brush so I knew he was tall. When he got to the food plot I was happy with what I had seen. I knew he would be my biggest buck. I was trying to see if anything was following so I let him eat and work a couple scrapes. He got within 20 yards and I decided that this was going to be the big moment so l let one fly. He dropped right there. Wasn’t the perfect shot being in the spine and a lung. My angles got to me a little bit but I continue to learn something new with each hunt and I am beyond grateful for this beautiful animal. My husband was across the way and could see the whole thing unfold. A million thanks to him for being so patient with me. 😊
