It was right around 5:14 PM, just before sunset, and I’d been waiting all day for something to show up. Finally, this buck came out of the trees from the left, moving slow behind some tangled branches. I caught his head in my scope, lined up the shot, and pulled the trigger. The 450 Bushmaster hit hard, and he dropped in tracks.
