I had not seen deer the first 3 days opening of rifle, thanksgiving was the last day i was able to hunt for the season. My boyfriend Matt and I went out to my grandpas blind like planned. We got out there about 2:30pm and saw 2 does within an hour to hour and a half of sitting there. We thought we heard something coming towards us from the south, and i happened to hear a twig snap behind us to the north, so i turned around and 3 does came walking in. I for sure thought they caught wind of us as i got out of my chair to get a shot at the bigger of the does. Than Matt pointed and said excitedly “wait wait theres a buck”. I waited patiently for a clear shot at him and got my chance as he popped out behind a tree into the trail. He looked at me right when i pulled the trigger hitting him in front of the shoulder getting his spine, dropping him right where he had stood with my grandpas 270 Ruger that i had inherited from him.
