After an awesome morning of my fiancé getting her target buck this year, we decided that we would go out back and sit in the front blind and try to bag a doe. We took both our dogs (labs) and we headed out. (4 in the blind total.) We caught a glimpse of a “big buck” across the field into the neighbors, but he was chasing a doe in and out of the woods, and thought we would never get a shot at him. After a while of watching him, the field flooded with does and him. He thought he was in his glory until the does came running across the field onto our property, I grunted, and grunted and grunted some more for him to come to a stop, but he didn’t want nothing to do with it, just the hot does. Once he finally slowed down a bit (still on a good pace) I thought I’d shoot my shot. He only made it 10 yards and down he went! We never got a good look at him as he got closer, but we knew he was a shooter! Walking up to him after the shot will forever be a great memory! 11 pt non typical scoring 153!
