He came in hot on a doe within 15 yards of me. I hunt the ground and was tucked into some trees. Took the shot at 20 yards. He could’ve cared less. Stood there still wanting the doe. He slowly walked off across the field. I made the mistake of taking my eyes off of him for a second because a couple bucks came out and I couldn’t help but look. When I looked back he wasn’t standing there and from the ground I couldn’t see him laying there. Gave it an hour and went to look for arrow or blood. Found neither. Went toward where I saw him and ended up jumping him. Made the hard decision to back out! Went back this morning and found him 50 yards into the woods. When in doubt back out!!! Ended up being a liver shot. May have never found him had we pushed. I am so happy, grateful and blessed!!
