2021 would be a memorable year–his first deer with a compound bow. A deer who had busted him in the stand more than once but came back one too many times. He refused to hunt the remainder of bow season, determined to take his next buck in first rifle season; something he’d not yet experienced, even with 6 bucks harvested by this young hunter. He would not be disappointed.
The story: arriving at the blind early results in intermittent dozing but being abruptly woken by your dad quietly saying ‘buck, nice one’ –those were quite the words to wake up to. 50yd later the smile couldn’t be wiped from his face (or his Dad’s).
