My son Jacob and I saw a Tom strutting from the road. We went on the property and started calling. We had 4 gobblers respond but would not leave hens. We decided to make a move and got closer to where they were strutting. A big tom came into a wheat field but was 52 yards away. A few minutes later three hens came in to the field. Knowing there were other toms I told my son to be patient and the toms would follow the hens. A few seconds later and the first of two big toms entered the field. The second one was right next to the first. We both fired at the same time and doubled on mature toms! A great experience and a memory to last a lifetime.
