I saw this buck Saturday night with a doe and 2 fawns coming across the field but I didn’t know for sure how big he was. For some reason as they were coming with the wind to me, the doe took off back to the woods and he followed her.
Tonight he came out the same direction with the same wind by himself right to the bottom of my stand at 23yds but no shot. I had a small hole to shoot through but I didn’t want to risk it or rush my shot so I waited and then he started to walk away. After a little bit, he popped out 35yds across the treeline I was in into the other field and started walking towards me. I shot him at 30yds a little far back and he ran out to 43yds where I was able to get a second shot off and put him down.
