Watching several doe and turkey wander the field opening morning when I had “knotty” creep out behind me at 7:50. First shot was high but dropped him, and had to put another in his neck and he laid down. I didn’t have time to range the first shot, and the lingering dark made him seem further than the 100 yrds he was at. I tagged and gut him, went back to the stand to wait for the rest of the family to finish the hunts when a second one stepped out down a trail 215 yds away. Double lunged him, piled up about 50 yds into the light swap. All said and done by 10:15.
