Kinda a last minute ordeal. My dad was able to watch our two girls. So I decided to go out with my husband to his hunting property. He set me in the most beautiful spot. And then he took off to walk the woods, to try and get me a deer. About an hour later I hear two shots go off. I just wait patiently. Well about 20 minutes after the two shots, this nice big doe walks into the woods where I’m sitting. She turned, and I realized it wasn’t a doe! It’s a buck! Of course I start shaking like a leaf. Watched him for about 2 minutes, and I just couldn’t wait any longer. Shot him about 60 yards away. And instantly saw blood everywhere! He ran about 40 yards, and I got to watch him die in a little stream!
Forgot my phone in the truck, so I couldn’t text my husband to tell him my excitement. About an hour and a half later I see his orange hat crest the field. When my husband got close enough, he gave me a thumbs up or a thumbs down. I start waving my orange hat like a white surrender flag! Went to get my buck and I had made the perfect shot! Double lung and heart! No meat ruined! One of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.
