I am usually an all day hunter, being a little picky with my hunts, and hunting all 3 seasons. Muzzleloader I changed up a bit and only sat the afternoons since this seemed to be when the deer in my area moved the most. Saturday I got to the blind shortly before noon to settle in as the deer have been migrating and several bucks I see had been losing their antlers or at least one side. I had a lot of deer in and out through the afternoon including a lot of turkey, but not the buck I had my eye on. 4:51pm I got a text from my Uncle saying, “The deer are looking!” He was spying on me from the cell cams. I replied quickly by saying, “Yes, he’s here!” I took my time by watching this beautiful buck walk into the opening, even snapping a few pictures of him with my cell before getting my game face on. 4:56pm I took a nice shot to the front shoulder, he ran a short distance and went down. I was so excited! My Uncle and my dad came out to the woods to help me haul him out and they could not have been more proud of their huntress for being so patient and hunting hard through this 2024 deer season. Good things come to those who hunt hard!
