Beau (9) and Jason headed out to the blind around 3:00 PM. At approximately 3:40, a bright red cardinal flew in and landed on a branch directly in front of them. Since Beau’s dad passed away from cancer in 2023, Beau knew in that moment his dad was right there with him.
About ten minutes later, a beautiful 6-point buck stepped into view. Beau stayed calm, took his shot, and the buck ran about 150 yards before going down. It was a nearly perfect shot—right through the heart.
This was Beau’s first deer, made even more meaningful because he took it using his dad’s .350 Legend. A moment of pride, strength, and a bond that will always remain.
