This buck came in the last 5 minutes of the hunt. Started scanning the field to my left and in the woods over my left shoulder. Looked back to the right and there he was in the woods walking at 60 yards quartering to me slightly. Pulled up the 450 bushmaster and shot right after he cleared a tree. It all happened in about 5 seconds. He ran 30-40 yards with just a drop of blood every 5-10 feet. Then he started dumping everywhere. Thought I blew the shit at first. Only went about 30 yards after that. The 450 turned his heart to mush. Been hunting since I was young and this is the first mature buck I’ve gotten a shot at. Feel very fortunate and still can’t believe it.
