I’ve had an eye on this guy that I named “Crabby” since he was in velvet. He is unique and those are the kinds of bucks I like. I hunted hard during archery season and had many encounters; however, he wouldn’t give me a shot. There was a two foot gap in the thicket he was passing through that I needed him to get into to be able to take a shot. He was passing through at a nicely paced trot. I knew I had to be ready so I got my gun out the window and my eye in the scope. As soon as he got into the opening he slowed down just quick enough for me to fire. It was about 130 yard shot and he ran 20 yards. Crabby isn’t my biggest to date but he does have some decent mass and is unlike any other buck I’ve taken in the passed. Very excited my hard work has paid off!
