Praise God for this buck of a lifetime!
I was unknowingly hunting this guy for 2 weeks on public land. I kept finding fresh sign from a good buck but hadn’t seen any during daylight hours. He showed himself on November 16th at 10 AM. Hunting very dense cover I happened to catch the gleam of his rack as he looked behind him. He was about 80 yards at this point. I scrambled for my grunt call hoping to get him heading in my direction. After a couple hasty grunts he turned and headed my way. I took my shot right before he passed downwind of me at 44 yards.

I still can’t believe I was able to take this animal on public land. I have met so many great guys in the woods who have put in more hours and years hunting then I have. Thanks to my wife Kayla for helping me get this deer out of the woods. Thanks to my hunting buddies Scott, Sean, Jeff, Bill and Josh for listening to all my strategies and stories. Thanks to Sam for taking these photos right after the kill. The Lord is good and his steadfast love endures forever!
