Was almost 5pm so late getting out to the stand. A small 8 was in range to my left just eating, he was too young. Many deer out but way out of range in the field..in my hast to get out to my stand I had forgotten my binocs and range finder. It was getting late, a bit after 7p, getting a bit discouraged when I caught a glimpse of movement to my right..holy cow!! All I could do to hold it together seeing those horns,,he was probably 60yrds but branches in the way..he was scoping out the deer way out in the field,,i was praying he would come down a big ditch and up to the bank so I could take a shot.. he looked over and seen the small 8 on my left and decided he wanted to do a meet and greet with him. It seemed of course like an eternity for him to decide all the while I’m praying he comes in. He got up to the bank, and beings I had ranged my markers the last day I was out I decided on the 30yrd pin. Lighted noc flew, using my Darton Rebel, Kill zone broadheads it went thru him like butter. I had the tactacam on too..double lung shot he ran down the into the ditch up to the other side and he was done. What an awesome hunt! God is good.
