Last night, I punched one of my Michigan tags on a “heavy” state land buck. I speed scouted the area on Saturday morning and found sign that a mature buck was using the area. From previous experience, I had a really good idea where he was probably bedded. That evening I set up as close as possible to the bedding area. The conditions were perfect. He came in on the same path several other deer used before him. I shot him 5 steps from the base of my tree, he ran 30 yards. As a bonus, my GoPro actually functioned properly and I caught it all on film.

The largest bodied deer I’ve shot in Michigan. Feeling very fortunate. Hunting is fun!🤘🏻
