I spooked this buck and a doe getting to my stand the weekend prior to gun season. I had an arrow nocked and just before the clearing he caught wind of me. He stopped and stared at me and eventually took off running. I continued down the trail to my tree stand and he watched me walk down the trail On the next ridge over and snorted and took off running away again. I can’t believe I got a second opportunity opening morning of gun season. He stopped broadside. 50 yard shot threw a thicket. Shoot now or never situation as he was chasing a doe around. Heart shot him. He ran 75 yards and piled up.
