Right aroune 730p little brother fell asleep on my lap and another similar buck stepped out about 45 yards out. He was too nervous to shoot and wanted the earmuffs on before pulling the trigger. I couldn’t maneuver the sleeping brother (into his own chair) in time to reach the muffs and get them on his head before the deer went back the way it came. We were both kind of discouraged but I then managed to get little brother in his own chair (still sound asleep) with the earmuffs placed in case we had another crack at the deer.
A few minutes later after we chatted about the first deer we saw this one about 200 yards in the other direction. We waited patiently and this one ran straight out from the blind. Again, he was nervous because he had never shot at a deer before but I convinced him this was a perfect deer and perfect shot option. Pulled the hammer back and let the muzzleloader do it’s job.
9yr old’s first time on the gun and first deer. Got help tracking from his cousins and grandpa 🙂
